Children's Occupational Therapy
Children’s Occupational Therapists have additional specialist skills that address the sensory motor and developmental needs of children and young people.
Children’s Occupational Therapists are specialists in the assessment and treatment of children and young people from birth to 19 years, who need support with activities of daily living and functional tasks. We can help provide practical support to children their families, carer's and schools, to help them overcome barriers that are preventing them from achieving their full potential.
The Children’s Occupational Therapy Service is provided for children and young people with a range of health needs including a delay in a sensory-motor development and neurologic conditions. Please see the related links box on the left hand side to find out more about these and other conditions related to Occupational Health Therapy.
The service is provided for preschool children living within the North Bristol Trust area, and school aged children who attend a school within the North Bristol Trust area. Please note - children who live in Bristol but attend a school outside of the North Bristol Trust area will need to be referred on to that area’s Local Occupational Therapy service.
Your child’s Occupational Therapist will come from one of our four teams in the trust area, North Bristol, East Central Bristol, South Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
