Successful rollout of EMIS to school nursing teams

The rollout of EMIS to the school nursing teams in Bristol and South Gloucestershire has proved a huge success.

The teams moved onto the cloud-based electronic system in October and November last year to improve efficiency and streamline processes across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG).

EMIS enables teams to see what other services children are accessing, which saves time and prevents duplication of work.

Colleagues can also access records immediately, making the service more efficient.

Stephanie Stallard, Digital Programme Manager, who led the project, said: “The collaboration between the systems team, Business Intelligence and school nursing service meant the transition was very smooth and successful.

“Our Go Live systems team provided extra help via Microsoft Teams chats and face to face support at Osprey Court, and the school nursing teams said they felt supported throughout the project.

“The safety and transparency across children’s services and the BNSSG EMIS clinical community feels revolutionary, after being on paper records.”

Plans are in place to move more services over to EMIS in the future.
