A campaign to give parents advice on introducing solid foods to their babies has been launched today by the Department for Health and Social Care’s Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).
The Better Health Start for Life Introducing Solid Foods campaign offers parents advice on weaning – which is when you introduce your baby to solid foods alongside breastmilk or infant formula.
The NHS recommends parents wait until their child is around six months old before they start introducing solid foods, but despite this, lots of parents are unsure when and how to do this.
A dedicated weaning hub has been created on the Better Health website offering support and advice for parents and carers.
The weaning hub is packed with NHS-endorsed advice, videos and tips, as well as simple, healthy recipes. You can access the hub here: www.nhs.uk/better-health/start-for-life/weaning
