Family Drop Ins, Information Sessions and Advice Line

Our speech and language therapists run a number of different drop in and information sessions for parents and their children. See details and leaflets below.

Advice Line

Our Speech and Language Advice Line is available for parents every Wednesday between 9:00am-12:00pm – please call 07825 016 335.

Early years drop ins

Informal drop in sessions for anyone with a child aged between 0-5. Parents can pop in to chat about their child’s speech and language development, no appointment necessary. For more dates and session times, download the leaflets below.

Due to staff shortages, the following sessions will no longer go ahead.

We'll update this page with the latest information on which sessions are running as time progresses, so please do check back.

If a session you were planning to attend has been cancelled, you can call our team during the scheduled drop-in time instead - the number to ring is listed next to the cancelled session.

Confident Communicators

Short parent information session on ‘Language Development and How To Help.’ Where a creche is provided, the session also includes a chance for parents to practise with their child in a short play session. If a crèche is available, places must be booked in advance – see the leaflets for more details and dates.

Talk and Explore

These are play sessions within ‘Stay and Play’ Sessions at Children’s Centre with Speech and Language Therapists. They are a good opportunity for parents to learn new songs, pick up tips for talking and playing with their children.

This can be a helpful session to attend as a follow-up to Confident Communicators, to chat to a Speech and Language Therapist about how it is going, now that parents are using the strategies at home with their child. For more information, dates and venues, download the leaflets on this page.
