If you are concerned that you or your child may have Chronic Unexplained Symptoms:

Please discuss this with your GP, they will discuss your medical history with you and will advise you about managing your symptoms, which may be manageble without the need for additional services. If additional services are needed then your GP will be able to work this out with you and refer on as required. This may include a health assesment with a Community Paediatrician, a Physiotherapist or a specialist pain clinic.

CCHP services that may be involved:

  • Community Paediatricians
  • Physiotherapy

If you are referred to a Community Paediatrician, please expect an 'opt-in' letter within 8 weeks of reciept of the referral.
When you recieve this 'opt-in' letter please make contact as requested to arrange your appointment. If we do not hear back from you within a week of this letter, you will be sent one further 'opt-in' letter. If we do not hear from you within two weeks of this, it is then assummed you no longer wish to be seen, and a letter will be sent confirming that you have been discharged from the service.

If you need to see a Physiotherapist, please be aware the wait to recieve this assessment may take up to 18 weeks follwing reciept of referral. They will invite you for an assessment which will be carried out at a CCHP base, or if more appropriate in your home or school. They will assess you to work out a treatment plan and whether any equipment or orthotics are required, and will review this with you 3 monthly.
